Unprecedented Training for Youth Umpires

CRLL is excited to offer our youth umpires an amazing  opportunity to attend umpire training provided by collegiate World Series umpires in 2018.

Local resident and Board volunteer Billy Haze, a collegiate level umpire and owner of blackandblueumpirecamps.com, will help train our returning and new umpires for the 2018 Spring Season.  There is no cost for this training.

Youth umpires will be provided with three sessions, one indoor class/orientation and two outdoor field mechanics clinics.   Training dates are Tuesday 1/9/18 from 6 - 9 pm, Wed 1/17/18 and Thursday 1/18/18 from 6 - 9 pm.

Youths age 13 - 18 who are interested in officiating CRLL baseball and softball games in the Spring of 2018 are required to attend the indoor class and at least one of the mechanics clinics.  Youths who attend both mechanics clinics will receive priority consideration when game assignments begin.

Our youth umpires demonstrate the core values of CRLL:  Character, Responsibility, Leadership, and Loyalty.  The benefits of umpiring reach far beyond the skills needed for the game at hand; youth umpires learn that professionalism, accountability, good communication and attention to detail are what can set them apart from others and give them an edge in the real world.
